Type 1

Produced by Squank Entertainment LLC these BTOS (build-to-order system) discs allow us to relieve financial strains for music release. See Mission Statement Made only from the best media available there should be no problem playing these discs in any system. These discs will not wear out over time either, with a longer archive life than Type 2 discs. The disc labels are printed by inkjet to a special print surface applied to disc during manufacturing, absolutely no stickers. This makes for a thinner than paper label that has no chance of coming off (many full color, High Res.) One important note is these discs labels are NOT waterproof, so additional care is required to prevent running of the ink.

All discs come in a jewel case. The booklets are all standardized with 2 panels of full color gloss and 2 panels of full color matte. The traycard in the case is also a full color gloss print.

Type 2

3rd party companies such as Sony's SDM or Discmakers make these discs. Made from an aluminum stamping process, larger quantities are a requirement. It can be costly to print large amounts while still trying to take chances with more obscure music and releasing more albums. That is why the Type 1 BTOS was implemented. In some cases though where an album does or is likely to sell more that cost is worth the investment cause of higher profits and faster results. This investment is taken by the artist or label in most situations. The ink labels on these discs are applied through the technique of screen-printing. Though more limited in resolution they are of high durability and better water resistance. This screen-printing is also limited to larger quantities. The disc itself is actually more likely to fail due to the fact that aluminum is highly corrosive and the discs are not sealed in most cases. These discs also come in a jewel case with traycard. The booklets will vary to the artist's specs some being longer and some short.
